Inside The Studio

Where raw hides become lifelong companions.

Step into a space ruled by patience and precision. We measure twice, cut once, and saddle-stitch entirely by hand, honoring a craft that outlasts trends.

Every mark on the bench tells a story of hundreds of projects past.

Our Philosophy

Crafted for generations, not seasons.

We reject mass production in favor of mindful creation. Every piece that leaves our benches is a testament to traditional saddlery techniques that have remained unchanged for centuries.

By combining thick, full-grain leathers with solid brass hardware and waxed linen thread, we construct goods designed to age beautifully, developing a rich, personalized patina over decades of daily use.

Time-Tested Instruments

An extension of the maker's hands.

Modern machinery certainly has its place in the world, but our core work relies exclusively on traditional hand tools. The tactile feedback of steel passing through thick hide simply cannot be automated.

The Diamond Awl

The cornerstone of our craft. Rather than punching out material, a properly polished diamond awl slices a tiny, angled slit. This allows the thread to sit cleanly and securely, creating the signature zigzag of a true saddle stitch.

Waxed Linen Thread

We use thick, heavily waxed thread. Unlike machine lock-stitching that unravels entirely if a single thread breaks, our two-needle hand stitch maintains structural integrity even if damaged.

Edge Burnishers

Raw edges are never left exposed. Through friction, water, and natural waxes, we seal the leather edges using wooden slickers, creating a smooth, durable finish that protects the hide from moisture.

Precision Blades

Kept razor sharp. From heavy round knives to delicate skiving blades, achieving a clean cut is the first step in any piece.

From Bench To Finish

The rhythm of the workshop.

Hide Selection

Every project begins with reading the leather. We inspect the grain, thickness, and temper of the hide, carefully planning our cuts to ensure the strongest parts of the skin are used for load-bearing areas.

Cutting & Skiving

Following heavy brass-bound patterns, the leather is cut by hand. Edges that will be folded or joined are meticulously skived—thinned down using a razor-sharp blade—to reduce bulk and maintain elegant proportions.

The Saddle Stitch

Locked tightly in a wooden stitching pony, the pieces are joined. Using two blunt needles and a single length of waxed thread, every hole is crossed in a figure-eight pattern. This creates a seam of unmatched durability.
